An Authorized Recipient (AR) is an entity, whether governmental or nongovernmental, authorized by federal statute or executive order to receive fingerprint background check results.
ARs assess the suitability of prospective employees for employment purposes.
Those ARs issued an Originating Agency Identifier (ORI) number can streamline their fingerprint submissions through Approved FBI Channelers for more efficient processing.
It's important to note that not all employers are considered Authorized Recipients, and FBI approval is required.
